Two months after the release of the Enhanced Edition, System Shock was announced as a remake. Nighdive Studios also commissioned artists outside the studio to help create concept art and models. Terri Brosius, the original voice actress for SHODAN is returning to voice her in the remake. Chris Avellone was involved with the game, alongside other members from Obsidian Entertainment, but Avellone eventually left in 2017. ĭevelopment was done by both brand new developers at Nightdive Studios, as well as having some original developers involved such as Robb Waters and Warren Spector. Reviews for this game have generally been positive, though there has been some more mixed opinions. However despite the changes that some dislike or are concerned about, some are still excited for it and enjoy it. Some have expressed the concern that the remake feels more like System Shock 2 or that it borrows too much from games that came after.
